Everyday Life in Y6

Welcome letter

Year 6 have been considering important 'Life Decision' during their visit into the Life Education Bus this week.
Congratulations to these budding writers from Year 6 who have had their writing chosen to be published in the Young Writers' The Adventure Zone Competition. We look forward to them sharing their story with us!
PC Maria joined Year 6 to inform them about internet safety. She will be returning to school in the near future to provide information to parents. Details to follow.
Year 6 have been creating their own example of 'the Big Frieze.' Their frieze is displayed on their classroom windows and retells the story of God's salvation plan from Creation to the Kingdom of God.

World Book Day 2020

For our 'Enterprise Event' Y6 used their sewing skills to make WW1 teddy bears and other decorations to sell.

Year 6 have been learning about microorganisms in science. We are experimenting with bread to see if we can encourage or prevent mould!

Year 6 Homework

Year 6 were set a challenge to complete a project on events from the war. Take a look at their excellent work, here are a few pictures. All work is displayed outside our classroom, please pop in and have a look.

Year 6 loved looking at the boxes from 'Museum Loan' service for our WW1 topic.

The children loved learning about Antoni Gaudi and his creations. We created some work of our own in his mosaic style, come and look at our display!

Our Novel has been Running Wild this half term and the children have loved the sections we have read from this book!

Year 6 2018-2019

Well done Y6! Your SATs results were wonderful and we are so proud of you. Take a look under our news section or in the gallery to see the scores.

Year 6 on World Book Day! Great costumes, everyone!

Year 6 welcomed Fr Andrew into school on Monday afternoon to gain a deeper understanding of the Eucharist. Fr Andrew explained the four parts of the Holy Communion order of service; the welcome, the Word of God, the Sacrament and the Action. He also talked about the meaning of receiving Bread and Wine’. The children were offered the choice of sampling them too.

Here are some photos from the Year 6 Science Day focusing on Electricity delivered by Bright Sparks. The children made different circuits and used these for testing insulators and conductors, varying the brightness of the bulb and experimented with buzzers and motors.

Year 6 would like to thank Fr Andrew for coming in to class on Tuesday afternoon to talk to them about the advent wreath. The children enjoyed sharing their understanding of the meaning of the candles.

We loved looking at World War One artefacts.

History visit to St. Mary's Churchyard
